How do you perform durability testing?
Laboratory tests, carefully developed and maintained, mimic conditions of use – and careful interpretation of results can provide valuable insights for the manufacturer and retailer.
The most common durability tests include: durability of colour, physical durability and visual appearance.
What types of products would be tested like this?
Everything textile. The ability of a fabric to resist wear is an essential aspect of its performance.
Mimicking the conditions of use helps to establish if the fault lies with the item, the way it is used, or the way it is washed and dried.
