The term Hydrostatic Head is the measurement used to calculate how much water pressure a water-proof fabric can withstand before penetration occurs. An example of where it is important, is testing the groundsheet of a tent. The groundsheet needs a high level of resistance to water penetration, as it is likely to be exposed to saturated ground. If the groundsheet has a low Hydrostatic Head value, anything in contact with the inside of the tent could become wet.

This webinar has been created in partnership with our technical specialists, who have a wealth of knowledge and experience in performance testing. With their expertise, this webinar focuses on topics from what is Hydrostatic Head testing and why is it important, through to what potential issues might occur when performing the tests.

This webinar will cover:

  • What is Hydrostatic Head testing and why is it important?
  • An overview of the tests and standards (ISO 811 and AATCC TM208)
  • Equipment/setting up the test
  • How to perform the tests
  • Potential issues during testing

Our Fundamentals webinars provide a solid foundation of knowledge for the area of testing that they cover. They are ideal for anyone new to this area of testing, or who wants a refresher on why and how to complete the testing. If you work in a textile testing laboratory, this could be the webinar for you.
